Don't be fooled by the delicious kabob photo, I am in fact still working on ceramics! I am working on the soda assignment this week, and things seem to be going pretty well. I have been experimenting with different texture tools, which has been really interesting. I have really enjoyed trying out the different 3D-printed items in the studio especially the textured rollers and the ribs.
I have stuck a lot to the design I did last semester which would be the "swirly" cylinders, I'm not quite sure what to call them. My family really liked it when I made those and I enjoy making them and experimenting with the glazes. I am interested to see how they turn out in the kiln. I still need to test out a few more slips on them when putting on the textures, but as of right now, I have like six things that I feel I could put in the kiln if needed and the rest of what I make can go into another firing.
I am looking forward to the soda kiln firing and hopefully more kabobs! Also shoutout to GH for putting on some movies at the studio and moving the wheel for me since I have no upper-body strength!!
